Objective: Create or Edit Rental Rate Charts
Rental rate charts determine the period rate to charge while the associated equipment is on rent.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Background
Rental Rate charts work by best matching asset attributes, such as: asset type, category, tiers, and more.
Here are a few examples that highlight how 'best match' works.
Example 1:
- Asset Type is Construction, Category is Excavator, and the rental contract is assigned to Store 1. A rate chart was found with matching values.
Example 2:
- Only the asset type has been assigned for this particular asset. A matching rate chart with only the asset type was found.
Example 3:
- The asset type, category, and tier 1 are specified for this asset. There is no rental rate chart that specifies tier 1, so the system will match based on the asset type and category.
Example 4:
- The asset type and category match, but the rental contract assigned store does not match the rate chart. If there is no rate chart available for this store, or simply a 'Construction Equipment' categorized rate chart, then adding the equipment will fail as there is no matching rate chart.

- If you'd like to create a specific rate chart for an asset or company, you can specify that as well.
- Selecting an asset will compare the rate chart to the specific asset being added to the contract.
- Selecting a company will compare the rate chart to the company selected in the rental contract header.
- Finally, enter the appropriate rates, as well as max hours to calculate excessive meter hour charges.
